Road To Swampy

Featured Replies

Has anyone driven to/from swampy in the last few days, I am due to fly out early afternoon on Thursday and wonder how much extra time to allow for the trip. Thanks in advance

No problems whatsoever.

Went yesterday, left Pattaya 16:30, in the airport at 17:45.

No cues at check in and very few people at immigration (went in up to immigration to help out a friend who is in a wheelchair).

I drove past the the airport at around 6.30 p.m. yesterday evening and there was a huge queue of traffic trying to enter the airport at the turn off from the motorway. This was in the Bangkok -Pattaya direction.

The hold up was due to a military check point, and it looked like the cars were proceeding very slowly.

I guess the amount of traffic entering the airport from the Pattaya direction would be much less.

If I were you I'd allow at least three hours (as has been advised by airlines) - just in case. The situation in Bangkok is very fluid and anything could happen at any time.

Cheers guys with a 12:30 flight I'll leave here around 08:00 should be ample time. If it all goes smoothly then so be it and I wait there.

Pass the airport twice daily.

In the morning no problems, in the afternoon/evenining a que from BKK to PTT.

PTT to BKK no problem.
