Apologies if this thread leads to duplicate content, but I'm not seeing ground reports. Have two nights of crackdowns basically resolved the issue of street violence on the ground in contentious parts of the city? Klong Toei, Din Daeng? Troops are not still battling with hardline protesters, are they?

Last I heard of this was a group standing off with police at Victory Monument yesterday, but any on the ground updates would be appreciated. Are things basically back to normal beyond cleanup efforts and the curfew?

A couple of specific questions.

First of all my family lives very close to Don Muang. I haven't seen any reports of problems in that area. So as far as Ii can tell all is relatively quiet in Bangkok now?

Is the curfew working? I see no reports of any more fires and such being set last night (night of 20th to 21st). I assume that is correct?

I heard about banks being closed. Are ATMs still working? Assuming that they still have cash in them that is.

Finally, I expect to be doing my normal monthly funds transfer to the family in Bangkok on Friday (21 May). Funds usually show up in Bangkok on Monday or Tuesday from my Friday transfer. Can I have a reasonable chance of having Bangkok Bank being able to process my transfer either Monday or Tuesday? That is to say, will Bangkok Bank be back to normal by Tuesday the 25th of May?

Would appreciate anyone who can give me an answer to those questions. Thanks.

I did not hear any shooting last night, which had been going on for a while, so I would guess its mostly stopped or the Army are using different weapons.
