15 Day Tr Extension

Featured Replies

I have a 15 day visa crossing over by land. I need to extend it. How many days can I get for the extension and how much is it?

It is not an official extension but you may be able to obtain 7 days for 1,900 baht and photo/application form plus perhaps copy of outbound ticket.

This is not the same type of extension as is for a 30 day tourist on entry? How is it different?

There is no difference - it is not an official extension of stay for either - it is an under consideration period. 15 and 30 day border entry without visa is called visa exempt entry.

7-day extensions have been commonly granted (1,900 baht) for years but they are not guaranteed. You also certainly will be asked to provide proof of your onward journey within that next seven days.

Visa agents often sell cheap bus tickets to those without onward tickets but immigration office agents are more likely to approve 7-day extensions with proof of an (expensive) air ticket rather than a (very cheap) bus ticket.
