Bars are open and serving alcohol tomorrow in Bangkok. Silom is having a whole weekend of street festivals so it should be a good few days.

I've heard, but can't confirm, that all of Silom from the Rama IV intersection to Narathiwat Rd. will become a walking street. So yes, if true, then the area of Silom where the Saladaeng BTS is located will be included in the walking street. I don't know what the hours of the walking street will be. :)

Technically, it is a religious holiday for Thai Buddhist’s, but as far as bars being open. Well, from my experience, some are and some are not. Just go there and look and inquire. Some will have a special room in a part that cannot be viewed by passer byers or it might be open in one part and serving grape juice with steak and potatoes.

But, just go and inquire.

I was around suk soi 4 and cowboy last night. Talking with the girls, it apperars that some bars will be closed, but I'm sure enough will be open to ensure a good night out.

Often, the bar owners themselves don't know until the day of the holiday. The police usually show up mid-day to let them know. Sometimes it will depend on the police district involved. There have been instances when Nana bars were closed and Cowboy bars allowed to stay open.
