I'd take a copy of your Thai bankbook showing a respectable balance for living expenses and emergencies. It is sometimes asked for.

I don't have a Thai bank account.

CM immigration was also requesting that you should have a small pitance in a Thai bank and when asked last year, I told them that I was just doing the monthy income amount.

"Oh, Ok" was the response.

I'm way above the 65K a month requirement and the IO stated that that was perfectly alright.

Now I'm dealing with Chachoengsao and have so far found them to be friendly and efficient without any hassle ( follow the written rules ) which I could not say about Aran, which was my previous office,

in the last two 90 day reports I have done there...

If you don't have a Thai bank account, take a few ATM slips with you to show if they ask for it. Or a bank statement showing you withdraw money in Thailand. It is just to show you have money to spend.

Roger that.

Does everything else look in order?

Now I'm dealing with Chachoengsao and have so far found them to be friendly and efficient without any hassle ( follow the written rules ) which I could not say about Aran, which was my previous office,

in the last two 90 day reports I have done there...

I heard Aranya Prathet got 2 different immigration offices, 1 on the border (which seems to be difficult) and one in the city (which i personally found to be very friendly, as others have previously reported too), in Chachoengsao i had some strange experiences, if you enter the office and there are no other "customers" you will find all the people "working" in there (about 10) start looking at you, but not just a simple look, they will be staring at you untill someone else will walk in and then do the same with the new person, ah ah, how weird! how is possible that they haven't got absolutely nothing better to do behind their desk?

as soon we walked in we had the captain desk just opposed the main door, with him stretching himself and yawning, openly taking a picture of us with his mobile phone from there, we then sit on front of another immo and as soon as he finished doing everything was needed, he put my passport inside a book beside him and hasn't done anything at all for maybe 15-20 minutes, i have absolutely no idea why he did that, then all of a sudden taked back the passport and gave it to me, no other requests.....if i would have to choose i would go to the Aranya office for sure, there is also a nice big market there on the border where you can have some fun, Chachoengsao to me look like just another small boring town, not much to do or see there...

:D

I'm refering to the office in the city ( Aran). One woman IO ( the leader of the pack it seems.) there just made shit up as she went along.. complete idiot. Did the same crap with my uncle, changing the rules every few seconds. I even posted about it back then.

Never visited the one on the border. The market is full of nothing but junk..

First time into Chachoengsao kinda the same as you. Entered and everybody stopped working and just looked at me. I was the only customer, and they just stared..Two officers walked up and asked what I needed. "90 day report". The then went at it. Smile, laugh, smile, laugh.. Seemed confused as to why I was there and then figured out that the office had changed for me. No problems and very smooth sailing.

Last 90 dayer they were on this Burmese guys case pretty bad..yelling at 'em and demanding to talk with his boss.. as far as I was concerned they showed the utmost respect and courtesy and acted in a very professional manner.

Mario- I do plan on my 90 day report as soon as my extension/re-entry permit paperwork is done.

Lopburi- Got it and many thanks. :)

I'll re-post to let ya know how it goes.

The saga continues.....

Update on my visit today to renew my O-A ( extension )

Went smoothly.

NO request for residence information.

NO request for any other financial info other than embassy letter.

The extension took approx 15 minutes.

Re-entry permit took 20 minutes due to the fact the guy wanted to chit chat.

Smooth as silk. :)
