Is there an equivilant drug in Thailand that does the same thing in the treatment of COPD?

The cost of the Spiriva, (German I think), original drug is 70 Baht per gel. This tends to mount up when one is prescribed to have 2 per day

(4200 Baht per month).

Any advice gratefully recieved

Yes you are right it should be 1 per day.

I am enquiring for a friend and checked on the internet and found out that it is indeed as you say - one per day.

I think that the hospital just wants to make some extra bucks (Khon Kaen Ram).

The question is - Is there a Thailand copy of the drug that does the same thing at a cheaper price?

Alas, no locally made brand, only the imported Spiriva.

If you are able to make say a one year's purchase at one time you may be able to get a significant discount by buying directly from the supplier:

My spiriva costs 1500 baht for 30 capsules.

Check your dosage as I understand the maximum dose is one a day.

Hello Harrry,

I am currently in UK but coming back to LOS late Sept,,,can you tell me which pharmacy you use?

I live in upper sukhumvit and have been diagnnosed in UK with emphasyma. Will I need Thai doctor's prescription?

Thanks Tonmai

No prescription.

I get mine from the ChiangMai University pharmacy as I like to ensure it is fresh.

It generally should be used in conjunction with another medicine Seratide which costs about the same or a bit more.
