I see that KL offers a choice of multiple entry Non O or single entry Non O for about one third the price. Would it me more economical for me to get the single entry Non O and then apply for an exit permit each time I must leave Thailand during the year. The problem with this is that I may have to leave Thailand after about 4 months to return to my job in Guam and then I don't know where I would stand to get back into Thailand. I also have a sail boat in Phuket and I would like to be able to sail down to Langkawi while I am there in Phuket or make a trip to Laos or Cambodia. Is there a more economical way to remain in Thailand other than having to pay more than 5000 baht for a multiple entry Non O.

I am 54 years old and have a Thai wife and a 3 year old daughter who is dual citizen US and Thai. I am a dual citizen of France and the US but I have always been in Thailand on my US passport. I have been getting the Non O marriage visa each year from the Thai consulate in the US and I see the price is going up each time. I usually work in Guam or Saipan on a schedule of 4 months at work and 4 months in Thailand. Any advice on how to live in Thailand at a lower cost will be appreciated.

A single entry only allows one stay of 90 days during the valid 90 days from issue. The multi entry allows an unlimited number of stays up to 90 days during the one year it is valid. Big difference.

If you can meet the 800k/65k requirements for extension of stay or the 400k/40k for Thai wife you might want to extend your stay at Immigration. That would only cost 1,900 baht per year plus any re-entry stamps you require (1,000 baht each).

For your frequent travel and not being able to plan the multi entry visa, even at 5k, seems to be your best option. You can obtain in KL with 100k in bank account proof and marriage/id documents.
