Hi guy,

Could you please let me know how difference between girlfriend and wife meaning?

Some of my Farang friend calls his lady that girlfriend .. that’s ok but she is an pregnancy … he makes me confused that why he still called her “girlfriend”?

They did not get married yet but their baby is coming soon.

Thank you for your explain in advance.

Before marriage = Girlfriend

After marriage = Wife

However.... my wife called me her husband before we were married ... and thought herself as my wife...(which was fine by me)

So I suppose it's all a matter of where you come from really ..

Okay, understood but a little bit doubt in case of they have a baby and will not get married just stay together so she is still just only girlfriend?

Strictly speaking yes.... it maybe more appropriate for her to be referred to as his "partner".. :o

My view is that if they are commited fully to each other, then theres no problem with referring to each other as husband and wife, as the marriage is only a ceremony ..

Yeah thais seem to see girlfriend and wife as same same. Faan and faan. It was over a year before I realised my brother-in-law was not married to his "wife" although they had 2 Kids. Wondered why nobody in the family would speak to her :o

Don't put me off, folks.

After 47 yrs of life and 18 mths with the g/f, the knot is being tied

next month.

The difference? I'll tell you later, but we're both looking forward to it.

All the very best to you and your future wife Sua Yai. Take no notice of the comments, it's only light hearted joking. For info, I am very happliy married :o
