Lucky boy Mr. Savage ...3 month sentence cut in half due to the guilty plea ....bingo! already done month and a half behind bars ....free to go but deported (as you do). So he is now a convicted person and guilty by his own admission in a Thai court of law.

But it seems that this would be classed as a 'minor offence' ...thus his ban/blacklist from Thailand is not for life (or so it seems from other posters here and sources elsewhere). The ban figures somewhere from 2 to 5 years but the information on this seems unclear. However, if this is the case, then he can someday come back to Thailand.

Is that a good idea? Probably not for his own safety and welfare ...he upset a lot of Thai people here by his youtube comments and his other actions that have been revealed from Pattaya 2009. I don't think the Thai police would speedily come to his rescue if he encountered some problems with a Thai person in the future.

For the sake of me/expats, you, Thai people, and Thailand ...please stay in England and try to get your family over there. move on Jeff and be happy/sane.

So basically everyone seems to think that if your a foreigner in this country your not allowed an opinion ? In every 'western' country you become resident, pay your taxes and have to basic human right to peacefully demonstrate and participate in political debate. In most you can also become a citizen of that country and be eligible to vote.

Savage's actions ARE stupid and idiotic but the comments on here saying foreigners should not have an opinion and should stay out of Thai issues are well off the mark. After all, many of us are long term resident here

The laws are already there. The computer crime act for example.

Writing hateful comments on the internet is a crime. Do you want these people stay here and work as a teacher or damage otherwise the peace of the society? No, there is no need for that.

Furthermore they damage the reputation of Thailand. Even if they are pro-junta or pro-govt. Some speak like true fascist, taken an extreme position and come up with arguments the junta or the govt would never used. Cheering and applauding assassinations and killings. Being a nutter will not protect them and why should Thailand allow them to stay?

It is also for your own safety. Catching a bullet in a peacekeeping live fire zone can happen without being guilty or breaking the law at all.

I agree. I mean most of those red shirts didnt even have a university education. Probably not even a proper job as they could spend so much time protesting. And if you think they werent organised bear in mind that you dont come across several thousand tires lying around Bangkok by accident. It is hardly as thought bamboo sticks grow on trees. If you think you can properly fire a catapault without years and years of specialist training you are totally naive.

Let's see Savage could apply for a job as one of Toxin's man servants and perhaps might get some protection from those that still have a score to settle with him. Many refer to themselves as guests in a country that shows them no true respect in any way , shape or form , you are not allowed to own anything , yeah , yeah , I KNOW there are ways and means that some feel is some sort of claim to something that in fact they can never truly own as in the Wesren world . Even there , much of what is owned and bragged about is not truly a personal possession , it is the property of one bank or another as has been realised by litterally thousands of 'Owners' whom are now homeless .

Should any one treat me as so called guests are treated in Thailand , I would make the front door one way , out , just as I did to Thailand , not welcome , why stay and put up with the agravation at the same time as being deprived of your hard earned cash ? I only wanted to retire in peace , there is no peace in Thailand , it is like navigating a military training area full of walls , hoops and whatever else they can come up with , even if you cannot see it , you are looked down upon as interlopers by many of the population .
