Further tests undertaken following electrocution of Elephant in Na-Jomtien, earlier this year

PATTAYA: -- We continue to follow a case of an elephant which was electrocuted in January 2010, just outside of an Elephant Camp in Na-Jomtien. A 50 year old elephant lost its life after it apparently came into contact with a small cone-shaped object next to a pylon, which is used to protect the pylon from a lightning strike. The elephantโ€™s master Khun Ooay aged 61 has been fighting for compensation with the provincial electric authority since January but after an initial offer was made the authority apparently backed-down and claimed a problem inside the elephant camp led to the problem at the pylon.
