now it's 3 in the morning and i'm try'in to change your mind. biggrin.png

These kids are great. If you like Bluegrass music they're gonna be a huge success.

They have 2 CD's out now...just google the bands name and have a look.

Now have a listen....

YOu knOW,

It really Boggles

the mind!

How can people still listen to this Rock and Roll Junk after all these years?

I mean,

Most of what we used to listen to in the 60s was OK.

But the 70s was mostly garbage.

Do I listen to this music anymore?

What

You think I am NUTS?

Sure

It was garbage back then

And it is worse garbage to listen to now

Because we have heard so much since the dark ages to show us just how bad Rock and Roll was back then.

BUT THERE IS ONE EXCEPTion to this rule: Jeff BECK

He is one man who was good then, and he is better now.

I still can't believe he can do what he does after all these years.

DORIAN GRAY(E)!

A pact with the devil

No Doubt!

here he is in TOKYO, for gods sake. 1999

Pretty fine!

Pretty amazing.

We are all entitled to our opinions; but good music is good music, no matter how old it is.

As an example, probably the best known piece by J.S. Bach (1685 to 1750)

My daughter (12 y/o) had Nina Simone "Feeling Good" on loop on her laptop today - nice for the first twenty or so spins crazy.gif

The cantatas are far better.

I KID YOU NOT!!!!

Listen and weep with relief you don't need to listen to another note of Santana or Black Sabbath.

The Bach Cantatas are all very beautiful,

But this one Cantata BWV 198

Is too much, really up tight and out of sight.

Did anyone ever talk like that?

They did on TV (not this forum, thank the gods)

But, while some of us were spending too much time listening to Rock and Roll,

Others were listening to the good stuff of that period, like........

Ravi Shankar and ANDRE PREVIN at some philharmonic,

Probably the London phil

Or something

Long, Long Time Ago,

Before most people here were even born

Some of us were listening to this......

sinCerely Hope

You ALL enjoy IT.

A Bit of old JB from back in the days when he was worth listening to before dissappearing up his own ass, check out the vocalist.

Another who despite early promise, never lived up to expectations.

After D&TDs did he ever release anything worth listening to?

Check out that tone, JB on bass what a star.

As the rock dinosaur groups wandered the earth releasing albums only concerned with shifting units to please record company execs back in LA rather than on artistic merit, along came this, brilliant.

Two chords a guitar and an attitude were all that was required.

That is just rod stewart, I think. Sounds sort of like that cracker cocker though.

But I do not care where JB goes, I will follow.

(Of course, I would be listening to Jimi Hendrix, too. But I have not heard any new music from him since he croaked. Still stuck back in the 60s is Jimi.)

JB, on the other hand, was smart enough to stay alive. So, I will listen to him instead.

This selection played at the Albert Hall should be required listening for everyone.

As should be the other 10 parts that go with it.

Very good post and selection here.

It makes one wish to return to those days.

Time barriers are the pits.

Why can't I just buy a ticket and attend again.

I should have been there the first time.

What was wrong with me?
