Look at how everything connects in Malaysia with a couple of hair-fine feelers going to Thailand.

Thailand was offered to be the SEA hub but though they could do better on their own. Now som-nam-nah to Thailand.

I would expect it's accurate. Remember that a part of all internet traffic goes through satellite also. One of the policies that Thaksin setup while in office was to force internet traffic through Shin satellite by making the taxes greater and the access to underseas cables more restrictive than to Shin satellite, thereby guaranteeing revenues and profits for Shin satellite. What you're seeing on the map is the resultant morning after hangover from Thailand's night of boozing with Thaksin.

This is indeed a good find thanks for sharing it. If any body ever gets to West Cornall take a trip to Porthcurno, at the top of the beach is a small hut.when the door is open for you view you see the cable terminals, they were put in to facilitate communication throughout the empire. Cable and Wireless used to do all their training in the village but it is now a telegraphy museum, well worth a look. 80% of UK mobile phone traffic uses these underwater cables, another batch go out at Breen Sands, Somerset. It took for attempts to lay the first transatlantic cable. Amazing how they managed to all that all those years ago and still inpremier position today.
