No More Dvd Recorders

Featured Replies

My Philips DVD Recorder has finally given up. Looks like they don't sell them anymore too. What do I need now to record TV programmes?

I could try to have the machine repaired. Does anyone know where in Chiang Mai they fix Philips appliances?

Thanks.

They do sell hard disk recorders although sometimes

they are hard to find in stock.

My recorder blew out when the power station here in BKK

was blown up by the Redshirts in the protests a few months ago.

Got a new Sony to replace my Philips recorder.

Cost was 16Kbaht for a 250Gig.

It does not stop live TV like the Philips did but

you can do almost the same by playing back while

recording.

Repair is hard to find also but there is a firm here

that says they can. I have not tried them yet for my

blown recorder.

Dont know where in BKK you are, however there is a Phillips repair centre on Seri Thai road (soi 41 or 43) in the Beung Khum district, Seri Thai runs parallel to Ramkhamhaeng rd.

Sound like you may need a PSU replacing, I have used the above mentioned shop with no problems.

Another option could be the Amorn group of shops.

How about calling Philips in Bangkok?

02 652 8652 Monday to Friday 08:00 - 17:00

They will be able to tell you where there service centre is.

DVR's do seem to be rare these days, replaced by the PVR, a combined sat recvr and DVR. :bah:
