Talking Of Shopping ....

The Central thread reminds me of the signs I saw for much of the last year for a new Index shop. At the bottom of the hill below Makro, on the BigC side.

Anybody any news? Over the last month a large 2 storey building has gone up on the land adjacent to the plot where the sign was. There is a sign in Thai perhaps saying what it is, but I can't see any reference to Index.

It would be nice to have an alternative to HomePro and Tescos etc for home furnishing stuff.

Index has been put on hold for a while (GFC) and the adjacent construction you mentioned will be a furniture store. The owners also have another business on the other side of the island.

Just south of Chawang Tesco, there is a store called the "Greenhouse". I've never been in there, but looks a bit more "up market" than some of the other furnishing stores. It maybe worth a peek.

The Index shop that was in Maenam, I think has changed hands, or at least their name... One side of the road, slightly higher quality, than the one on the right side (heading toward Nanthon) But not what would call "high quality", if that is what you are after.

The shop south of Nanthon, is not exactly "up market" either.... at least for "western tastes".

I am not really looking for anything at the moment, but it would be nice to have something a little more 'western' to look at should the need arise. And I think you may be talking about Koncept SJ. A bit like Ikea in style, but everything they do is for delivery only. If I want to buy something, I want it NOW!!!!!!!!

Will see what happens at the place near BigC. Looks like a very large building. With a roof too! With a bit of luck anything I want will not be covered in dust/dog hairs/empty water bottles/other items of a dubious description.

Yes you are correct, what was Koncept, is now KWAN Furniture... The Index Shop, closer into Maenam....

Same Same but may be slightly different! They seem to have same stuff sitting out side, maybe just new name!

I did buy a table at one of them, They delivered same day & put it together.... don't think Ikea would do that!
