Make sure your telephone / ADSL line is ok.

I had problems at home as well and found out that my ADSL connector was green because of water.

Changed the connector and now my line is working properly again - can't solve that with software!

Yes with software you can 'tweak' a few network settings but you won't see that back in speed

Cheers,

The fact that they have a microsoft certified logo doesn't men that they are certified. And what if they really were? Do you expect that to make their product better?

To me it seems like crap expecially when you can dowload an exe file to try. How do you know what that exe file will do to your computer?

I would never even try a thing like that... smells crapware...

Their explanation.. they tweak the MTU

How ActiveSpeed works - A brief introduction. When you download a file, it's broken into many packets of data before it's sent over the Internet to your computer where it is reassembled. The size of these packets is called the "Maximum Transfer Unit," or "MTU value." Your downloads will be slow and disappointing if this value is not set correctly. Each packet that is sent over the Internet contains a header which contains a variety of information about the packet, source, and destination. Setting your computer's MTU value too low makes downloading less efficient because a greater percentage of the packet is taken up by the packet header. Setting the MTU too high can also decrease efficiency. Other computers on the Internet might not be able to handle MTU values of a certain size. If you set your computer's MTU value too high, some computers along the delivery path will be required to break these packets into smaller pieces before accepting them and passing them on to the next computer. This "Stop. Break. Go." processing of packets can dramatically slow down data transfers. ActiveSpeed provides a Goldilocks solution. It makes sure that your MTU values are always set optimally which translates into much improved Internet performance. And that's just one of the many ways ActiveSpeed can improve the performance of your Internet connection.
