I have 11 terabytes of HD movies, documentaries and concerts on 11 individual 1 TB drives that simply plug into the TV. US$110 each from Panthip. You get roughly 100 HD movies per drive.

I hope you have backups too.
I only have 5 TB of stuff but every TB has a mirror image on another drive. I have had at least 3 WD Mybooks fail after a couple of years.
Before somebody asks, I do have a NAS with RAID 5 capability but the failure of a drive has a very long rebuild time so I decided to configure it as individual drives, with mirrors on a separate machine.

I dont have hard drive back ups. The hard disks in Panthip come ready loaded with all the media on them. If one was to fail I could just go and get another copy @Bt3500 per disk.

I dont have a raid system, simply a fairly cheap hard disk media player. This has the advantage of a remote control so that I can choose anything off the hard disk from the comfort of my armchair.

To be honest, each disk has its own number on the back, so I dont really need a back up because all I do would be buy a replacement. Obviously I could copy the media from an HD drive to a blank one but I suspect you will have to pay US$80 for a blank 1TB HD in any case.

My music, photos etc which can also play through the media system are basically backed up on my computer system. The hard disks also have the advantage that the shop has already printed off booklets which detail all the media on the hard disks. Therefore guests can simply flick through and choose their film, concert or documentary over around 1200 programs direct from the booklets. To do that yourself would be a major hassle. Around 70% have Thai language channels and of course there are Thai and English subtitles.

They bring out a new H ard Disk about every two months and now they are adding series, so that the latest disk (which I dont actually have), has all 4 series of Prison Break in Hi Def (prob recorded off the TV or downloaded as MKV) as well as about 70 films.
