I have an IBM system. I use Mozilla Firefox. Sometimes after closing it out [by checking the x box in the upper right hand corner, I cannot open it again. Some programs say it is still open but it isn't as far as I can tell. When I go to task manager it doesn't show up as being open. If I do a CCleaner it says please close Firefox first but it is closed. The computer thinks it still is open and wont open it again, any ideas? I have to do a reboot to get it to work again.

On the Mozilla close/open problem - I have had the same thing at times.

It only happens to me when I close Mozilla to swap from TOT to CDMA for internet access. When I try to open it says that Mozilla is already running. I leave it for a few seconds then it starts OK. I think that there are a lot of background tasks/saves that go on when you close Mozilla. It could be that something on your PC is slowing down or stopping these tasksthese tasks.

Sorry - don't know how to fix it apart from 'be patient'.

Install FF4 beta. Way better for releasing memory (previous version would get up to 900k). Quick to 'x' and restart without having to go into Task Manager and kill it there. Think FF might have almost cracked it!

Ctrl+ Alt+ Delete / Task manager / Processes

Important to check processes, not applications!

Stop Firefox - should do the job.

I am running FF 3.6.8 and not having any problems, but have seen this error in older versions.
