Chiang Mai In A Day

Featured Replies

Would it be possible to do Chiang Mai in a single day ? I am undecided whether to see Chiang Mai because of time restrictions and a desire to see the beaches.

If we fly from Bangkok on the early morning flight and then spend the whole day in Chiang Mai will we be able to see everything there ? We would stay one night in Chiang Mai and fly out the next morning.

Everything no. A little yes. It's rather missing the point though IMHO. CM is as much about the feeling, vibe, call it what you will, as the sights, that you certainly are not going to appreciate in a day.

Agree with roamer, and it is very worthwhile to experience the feeling, the vibe of Chiang Mai. Go for it!

Go to the beach. You would be waisting your time and money for only 24 hours in Chiang Mai. You need at least 5 days and nights.

Go to Texas, you can understand it all in a day and have time to spare............

sheesh

Desire to see the Beach in Chiangmai????? Since when Chiangmai have a beach????? Perhaps you could visit my Blog, there are lot's of Chiangmai photos to review....hope it helps!:)http://sunnyhor.blogspot.com/

ya didn't read it very good.he's talking about going to the beaches and also visiting CMI.Ya need to read betwwe the lines.

To answer the question,I don't believe hardly 5 days is long enough time.I would say at least A week.

Yes, the OP could not decide between going south to the beaches and the north, Chiang Mai, Actually Chiang Mai does have it's very own beach!! at Huay Tung Tao!!( admittedly it can't compare with Jomtien!)

Save it for next trip, then come to Chiang Mai for a week, not to forget the rest of N.W.Thailand !

Have a good trip ! B)

As many already said why waste your money, Chiang Mai is about the area as well as the city. Come back when you have more time to enjoy

And bring money! Lots and lots and lots of it. We need it.:D

I'd forget the beaches and do CM instead, more to see, infinitely more interesting, far fewer idiot tourists, and probably cheaper.

It will probably be best to give Chaing Mai at least 5 days, or more, to get any real appreciation of the place.

It's a great place and I would personally give it much higher marks than Pattaya / jontiem as a holiday destination.
