Poll for those interested in discussing Thai music to gauge if there is enough interest in a subforum.

Would appreciate your input.

I see that the other thread is locked. While TV is deliberating on this, people interested might want to visit:

This site aims to help people learn the Thai language via song lyrics.

As somebody else said, you tube is also good.

Hope providing these links is okay - they are not sites that compete with TV. However mods can remove if not appropriate.

I have no interest in Pacific-Asian music in general, it's over-harmonious and well balanced, full of artificial dyes, flavors and fragrances it is really boring. Only in the Philippines you find some rock singers with good voices and they have more feeling for rhythm.

Good non-western music with a soul comes from West Africa, Latin America, India, Azerbaijan, Mongolia, Madagascar to name few examples.

Dislike western music too btw.

I like the early KALA albums but a bit of Buddah Bless wakes me up

4 years ago the Thai commercial music industry started stealing Latin rhythm and video clip styles and it became very popular. But it's nothing Thai and looks very fake here, nothing like hiphop Cubano and other music from the hoods and barrios in that region.

When Thais try to copy Latin rhythm it's crap because it ain't got soul it's just commercial.
