A recent topic: "Mail Order A Laptop From America" lead to some current and interesting threads.

Here is the story: After a long two week search running through several tec. sites viewing schematics and tear-downs I located the manufacturer of this very specific product in China.

This product was being literally repainted, repackaged and re-branded by several "brand Name"

companies and re-sold at a high of 10 to 14 times the China price. Would be happy to reveal the product but at this time I am concerned with ordering from China.

As an example; The Thai price is 20K Bt. The China price is about 6K bt. This is because this particular product is re-branded in the US and then shipped to Thailand. Normal in my experience.

I am not interested in re-sale or marketing. We are attempting a group buy from a few professionals interested in this product directly from the Chinese company to mitigate shipping costs and having to pay for simply re-branding.

Given the recent (*FTA) agreements with ASIAN *this is not the correct term but the gist is correct,

the statement below is confirmed by the Chinese company. (yes, I know, I once exported to China and confirmation of anything is, well? Never the less, this is a reputable long running company.

Here is the statement taken from a post:

"If a person in Thailand wants to follow the Thai law as indicated in the rules of this forum, to not pay to much import tax. Any tricks on how to not pay import tax is really illegal in Thailand, jail terms of 25 years... A person who want to stay well within the boundaries of the law, should look for a Japanese brandname sold in Japan and offered by one of the Japanese online shops. Or look for a Australian made exhaust system sold by an Australian online retailer, or Chinese manufactured and send from a Chinese territory to Thailand... Indian manufactured product from any Comment Welt alliance countries ...

This clearly specifies a 100% import duty free product... At first people will say what, but often US and International brand names have the capability to send Chinese products directly from the manufacturer. Same go's for Japanese and Indian made products.

Anyway, 80% of all good sport exhaust systems come from Japan. The once who not come from Japan only weight less, but offer not much performance enhancements also... (just my experience...)"
