Normally i give King Power a wide berth, apart from buying a magazine and some mints downstairs at the airport.

The total bill is only around 500 Baht but I always ask for a receipt for obvious reasons, they do not give a receipt unless you ask. Last week flying to Vietnam I did my usual, bought mints and a magazine, had to ask for the receipt. I gave the girl my passport. The magazine receipt was given without the need for my passport and the mints went onto a separate receipt with passport details etc (I don't know why the magazine and mints are separate although previously they had to be paid for at 2 separate checkouts so maybe two shops in the same area).

Anyway this time I actually checked the receipt I was given, it was not for the item I had bought and also had the name and passport number of a Chinese passenger on the receipt, I asked for the correct receipt and they had to call a supervisor over to do it for me. Anal I know but I will not take risks in those places.

Possibly just an oversight but an oversight that can become very expensive baring in mind what has happened in the past with other people, just a heads up, like I say it was probably on oversight or incompetence but better to be safe than sorry.

Good Advice,random.

I tend to avoid buying anything ,but that is nearly impossible with accompanying children.

I will certainly scrutinise the receipt next time
