I need to do a visa run soon, i am getting down to my last two pages and dont want to use a full page by going to Laos. Can anyone suggest an alternate crossing that only uses a normal size stamp ? Cambodia ?, Myanmar ?

Other possibility, if I have the information correct is to switch from Non O multi entry to 1 yr extension based on marriage or retirement then no border run only reporting each 90 days. Problem here (possibly) is my letter of income (exceeding requirement) from the Embassy is dated end of JULY, would I need to get a more updated one if applying in October?

(info: UK over 50, dont have 400k seasoned).

Are you talking about a Visa run (new visa in a neighbour country of Thailand from Thai embassy or consulate) or a borderrun (new entry)?

If Visa run:

for Laos and Cambodia you need to have one page for the Laos or Cambodia Visa, one for the Thai Visa and another one for exit/entry stamps.

In Myanmar no Visa for Thailand, Malaysia I don't know the necessary pages in a passport

If borderrun:

Laos and Cambodia the same as for Visa Run (also get the 1 page visa), but you can go to Myanmar (1 exit, 1 entry stamp Thailand, 1 entry and 1 exit stamp Myanmar). But the border at Mae Sot is still closed (I live here), so you have to go to the south or to Chiang Rai/Mae Sei.

Malaysia I dont know

Just to clarify, I am considering doing the 90 day border re-entry run OR changing the visa to a retirment or marriage extension (if thats possible)

Malaysia has a small free visa exempt entry stamp which is available to UK Nationals.

You could try using two paper clips to hold the the blank pages together in your passport before you go to customs, thus 'protecting' the blank pages from a 'quick' stamp.

No guarantees, but it at least gives you time to argue your case with the customs officer (for the pages of concern to be kept blank and the stamp put in a space somewhere else).

You need at least one full page for the under consideration and one year extension of permission to stay stamps; your only choice in the medium term is to get a new passport from the Hong Kong Embassy.

Either a 90 day border stamp with your non immigrant multiple entry visa, or a sixty day extension of permission to stay based on marriage to a Thai from your local immigration dept, would give you time to season 400k/800k (and get a new passport).

Seems to me that the simplest option is to go to your local Thai IMM Office and ask them beforehand if they will accept your JULY 2010 (?) Income affidavit for Extension based upon Retirement.

Another option: get the eVisa for Cambodia, no 1-page sticker, just the entry/exit stamps. Search the forum for 'eVisa'.
