Anyone Take Topamax Pills In Bangkok

Featured Replies

I take Topamax off-label for migraines-have for years. I usually get it here at a government hospital pharmacy. The last time i got it filled they gave me a bottle of pills not the usual blister pack type. Stupidly, starting to pack for a trip to China I wanted to prepare my prescription pill box today. I opened the bottle over the sink and spilled the contents. The local pharmacies where i live do not stock this. They can get it for me in 3 days counting from Monday-great i will be on a plane by then.

I would prefer to buy it OTC at a pharmacy rather than have to waste time (I am dealing with finals up until the time i leave) and money going to a hospital to get the prescription filled at a hospital pharmacy. The medication is expensive enough without the hospital tacking on their markups. Hoping someone has bought it at a large pharmacy in Bangkok or knows a large pharmacy where i could call (they speak decent English- I have been hung up on by several i tried) to see if they stock it. Boots does not carry it.

The OTC part is no problem, it's category 'D' so approved for OTC sale.

Just a matter of finding a pharmacy that has it.

There is a large pharmacy on Sukhumvit Rd around Soi 2 (opposite the tollway entrance) that has a very wide stock. I can't say for Topamax specifically but people are often able to source hard-to-find drugs there.

Unfortunately I do not have their phone number, maybe someone else can provide it as anyone living in that area will know the pharmacy I mean.

Another option is Fascino's and a web search should produce a phone number but (1)located all the way across the river next to Siriraj and (2) not likely to have an Enlgish speaker.

Lastly there are several pharmacies on Rajchawithi across form the hospitals (near Victory Monument) that often have hard to find things.

I'd try the Sukhumvit place first. Ploenchit stop on the BTS, probably your best bet and some of the staff speak English.

Have not been there for years but there were two large drug stores across Rama IV road from Chula Hospital that deal mainly wholesale and have large selection - but suspect you would have to go there - were always busy when I used them.

thanks for the suggestions. i'll try the Sukhumvit pharmacy on the way to work Monday and if they don't have it, i'll try the pharmacies by Chula on the way home.
