So while in Aus I bought a BlackBerry 9700 from a friend who switched to iPhone.

Got back here and popped in my SIM but get an error message - seems the phone is perhaps locked somehow?Has anyone had this issue or have a suggestion what are the next steps?

Is it as simple as going to a mobile shop and letting them have at it? Any suggestions who is good to see if that is the case.
