Just got off the phone with wifey. She said Phimai is way under water now. She made it through 2 days ago, but doesn't think she can go back that way. It's a real mess and seems to be changing frequently. She traveled from Pattaya to the old bus terminal outside Khorat and then to her village just south of Khon Kaen. Took her 12 hours to get there....

just came back from BKK into Phimai (no major obstacles anymore on Mitraphap): getting into Phimai, you still do need a high-heeled

pickup (preferably 4wd), the police won't let pass anything else smaller, lower-built than that. Phimai has the option of coming in through

the Chumpuang track, again, though, you will get stuck on the Phimai hill (near the Khmer hospital), can't enter the city centre. For emer-

gency: Boat and army truck services available into town.

Can anyone let me know what they think of the condition of no-2 and 304 hwy from Bangkok to Kohn Kean? for this Wednesday

Thanks,

Rory
