Try this company Phurita Car rental near thae pae gate in town. Always good service, Ive rented a vigo and a fortuner off them before. You can also rent a GPS unit with the car which comes in very useful.

Try North Wheels on the canal road near Rydges Hotel ( Oh it has a new name) just before Tapae Gate. They have good prices and a breakdown service, used by my friends many times

North Wheels, mentioned above, is not on "canal road" - probably haste.

The site mentioned is on the East side of the MOAT, going south (and therefore on the outside), beyond the hotel but short of the gate. Hope you don't have to park a White Cadillac.

I do not know them, as I haven't rented a car here.
