Any experience of sending an ordinary mail from Koh Samui to Europe?

Is the post service reliable?

In general, how long will it take to reach Europe?

I have experience with this.

1st. Never arrived (CD with holiday pictures)

2nd Took almost 2 months. (resend CD with holiday pictures)

3rd Never arrived. (Birthday cards)

4th within 3 days. (Letter)

5th Never arrived (Letter)

These were all send to the Netherlands with normal post from the postoffice near Lamai.

Also receiving post is erratic sometimes within days sometimes after 2-3 months and a few times never. (Just postcards, not envelopes which could have money inside).

After this i gave up and used fax, e-mail. Not easy when you want to send some to your 88-year old grandma.

I send most of my letters to the UK, but I don't send them from Thailand! I use an online service based in the UK which prints out my letter and sends it directly from the UK to the destination UK address. They can even print out colour photos etc. The service cost is very reasonable...

Register ALL mail for a fee of Baht25.

Never had any problem sending mail to the UK. Takes a while though!

Never had any problem sending letters to Europe and UK. Will take few days but it's OK. To be sure it gets there always register it.

Majority of mail is just fine. Occasionally something doesn't arrive at either end.

Never had any problems recieving or sending mail to Europe (Netherlands). It takes usually about a week. Also no problems receiving parcels etc.

What kind of flag is that? In other words, what province are you from Mitmig.
