Thailand issues border visas for Romanians

As of yesterday, Thailand began issuing visas for Romanians at the border, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a press release quoted by Agerpres.

The visas will be available for a 15-day period.

Romanians who wish to stay in Thailand more than 15 days have to obtain a visa from the Thai Embassy in Bucharest, the ministry added in the release.

Visa on Arrival starting to apply for Romanian nationals as of 20 November 2010.

Romanian visitors to Thailand on tourism purpose may apply their entry visa upon arrival at

the Immigration checkpoint for the period of stay not exceeding 15 days

TEMPORARY TOURIST VISA: VISA ON ARRIVAL

Compulsory Rules and Conditions:

- The Visa on Arrival is applied solely to visitors on the purpose of tourism.

- The stay permit to be granted not exceeding 15 days.

- The applicant must possess means of living expenses at the amount of 10,000 Baht

per person and 20,000 Baht per family accordingly.

- The applicant must possess a passport with at lease six-month validity and must produce full

paid ticket which is usable within 15 days since the date of entry.

- Visa on Arrival is provided at 24 designated international checkpoints and applicants should

submit the Application Form duly filled out and to which his/her recent photograph (4 x 6 cm.) is attached.

The application fee is 1,000 Baht (due to the extension of the tourism stimulus package the exemption of visa fee will be carried on up to 31 March 2011).

- Visitors who enter the Kingdom with Visa on Arrival generally cannot file an application

for extension of stay except in special cases such as illness which prevents them from travelling, etc.

The application for the extension of stay should submit to the Office of Immigration Bureau in Thailand .
