Photography Forum Challenge #4

Featured Replies

The Mods have asked me to come up with a fresh challenge, and it is:

To take a creative and interesting photo involving glass.

Your photo can be of a glass object(s), or it can be photo where glass has a significant impact on the shot (e.g. reflections in the windows of a building, a subject distorted by being viewed through glass).

There may be a magnificent prize for the most artistic offering; but then again, probably not.

Show us your glass!

Great idea. Here's a few examples to get you started:

These examples are from http://www.123rf.com/ a great source of royalty free photos.

Here's another one; taken a couple of days ago.

Placed a black card with same aspect ratio as the sensor behind a decanter. Positioned the camera so the black card filled the viewfinder; and then placed a light source wider than the card behind the card. The theory is that no direct light arrives at your sensor, but the light from the side of the card picks out the edges of the glass. Didn't work quite as I had hoped; was wanting the delicate green of the glass to be highlighted, instead I got the decanter from hell.
