Need To Find A Maid ++ Urgently

My father-in-law just spent 5 weeks in intensive care + one week in normal room at RAM hospital Phayao. He went back home today.

My wife and I flew from Europe immediately and I flew back to Europe a week ago and my wife staid there to take care of him.

The problem that we have now is that there is nobody around who we can trust to take care of him seriously at home. Meaning that my wife is stuck there for ????

I would like to find a maid ++ ( ++ meaning clean the house, cook and make sure he is ok ) who could stay with him at least 6 days a week during a few months.

He lives in a small village somewhere between Padet and Phayao.

Does anyone have an idea where to find such a person?

Thanks for your help.

Hi!

Sorry about your father in law.

I remember, when my friend was alive-we had the same problem-and when we got one-she eather dont come, or she steal he monye-even that we paid 10.000 a month.

My opinion is-go to the hospitals-talk to some one there-often they know some one,who wants to earn, a litle exstra monye.

You can also try to cantact Kandahat-give him a pm-he knows alot people, and I think he's wifes sister or something,is nurse to.

I will remember this, and look around-and let you know,if enything is comming up.

Hope the best for you and the family!

Traditionally the role of caretaker for the elderly has fallen on the shoulders of family members. I get the impression that the market for such care outside the family is not well developed and hard to find outside of major cities like Bangkok or Chiang Mai.

Most of us have considerable difficulty just finding good domestic help, part time or otherwise. If your wife can’t find another family member to take her place, then she will be expected to perform her daughterly role. Good luck in dealing with this problem.

Both responses so true. Seems like not much of hospice care around this area. Wife's brother, who is 83, quite well off, was very sick last year and it was up to siblings to take care of everything. And sometimes, friends of the family. However, in our case, the youngest daughter. Wife has a female cousin in Phayao hospital, when we visit, we get Thai massages from at home from their specialists, and yes, for sure, check with them if they know of such an outside service to require your needs.

Hi!

I just remember, that when my friend was dieing-we found a place

-it is not near you,I know-but maby you have to do it enyway-I mean-that can be your last choise,if nothing shows up.

I really was surpriced about this place-such a good care and everything-and the head nurse, speak very good english to-so no problems about comunication.

It is in Chiang Mai-Dok Kaew Gardens-or Mckeans hospital-it is the closest, I have seen a hospice, as we know it in europe.

If I remember right, the price for everything-room,food,care and all is-34000baht. pr. month.

Good luck whit everything in the future.

It's not that easy to find someone way out there in the sticks on such short notice......no one in the village available??. We had a hard time with finding a caregiver for my 92 yr old Pop in CM, but were lucky in that a friend refered us to a good caring caregiver who has been with us for a year now.

I could suggest that you consult with some of the many caregiver's schools......several in CM and probably some in CR.

or for a professional English speaking care service you can contact www.centa-care.com and ask for Lou.

.

Hi Jaideeguy.

I will search this kind of school in CR.

The person would have to be Thai speaking.

Thanks for your help
