I have a problem with the 'crown jewels' and need a specialist genitourinary doctor. I've been to the local clinic and i am not satisfied or cured. My problems with the clinic are that the waiting area is completely non-private. The receptionist girls chat (loudly) about the patients. One even stands in the doorway watching the doctor deal with patients, occasionally reporting back to the other girls as to what is going on.

I went to this doctor and he sent the girl out, then examined me, gave me a blood test (and an HIV test without my consent - which was negative by the way - phew) and then gave me an injection, tablets and a bill for 1200 baht. It didnt completely clear things up.

I have a numb pain in my testes and a constant burning in my John Thomas. (Does anyone know what this might be?)

I need to find a specialist within this field. Can someone recommend one please.

I'm used to a certain level of privacy and confidentiality and i really dislike the public discussion within this doctors surgery of patients' problems, the giving out of urine sample cups in public etc. I just dislike it.

Please - there must be a doctor who is a specialist in this field who understand the sensitivity of the situation.

Thanks in advance.

His clinics moved a few times and I havent needed his services but from memory hes currently on Rat U Thit Rd on the west side of the rd, in the shophouses between thanon hatpatong and Sawatdirak rd.. so if you get to the sai nam yen / rat U Thit junction you have passed him.

Went to Doctor Pornsak's clinic.

It's in a row of shop houses, not far from the HatPatong / Rat u thit junction.

Ok, i admit that privacy is a big deal for me, particularly when dealing with GUI things. This place has a very low level of privacy. You enter the clinic and walk immediately into the waiting area which is just one long bench. At the end of the bench is a frosted glass cubicle. This is Pornsak's examination room. The frosted glass doesnt even go up to the ceiling, so it is far from sound-proofed. What is separating you and your intimate problems are nothing more than a 2 metre high piece of frosted glass.

Dr. Pornsak then turns on his table lamp, puts on his glasses and tells me to stand up and take off my pants. This must have presented a rather bizarre Hitchcock type silhouette to the waiting room. VERY embarrassing for me.

I don't know if Pornsak is slightly deaf, but he said in quite a loud voice, 'when you last <deleted>?'

Then.

'When you last sucking' and mimed this out with his thumb and his mouth.

As i had quite specific symptoms, i thought he would know what it was immediately - but he seemed a little unsure. Fair enough - no doctor knows everything, but still - it didnt fill me with confidence. He gave me some anti-biotics and said if they don't work, come back in 3 days. That's 2000 baht (two thousand) please. (if they don't work, do i get a refund?. In fairness, there is a sign saying 'doctors fee 1000 baht)

As i said before, privacy is important to me and Dr Pornsak's clinic doesnt offer the level of privacy i desire.

Very luckily for me, there was no one in the waiting room.

I found the whole experience to be awful and won't be going there again. If these things don't bother you, then it's your choice - he is supposed to be an expert in his field - and lord knows, he must get a lot of practice in Patong.

Hope this helps.

Most clinics in Thailand are not on par with what foreigners require
