Thai gov. to tax (remitted) income from abroad for tax residents starting 2024 - Part II
Which was exactly my point, to go after the Siam Legal beagles that just flatly said, "credit card purchases are a taxable event" Period. Without consideration of payment source. Anyway, I guess we're on the same frequency. -

Thai cop accused of stealing 30,000 baht in mediation case
The Acting Commissioner of the Royal Thai Police, Police General Kittirat Panpetch, has ordered a probe into claims that a local police officer embezzled money from a mediated debt settlement. A 34-year-old woman alleges that the officer from Samrong Tai Police Station took 30,000 baht that was part of a debt repayment plan. Under this plan, the debtor was supposed to pay back the money in installments, supervised by the police. The officer was to be paid a 10% commission from each installment. But the woman claims the officer surreptitiously took all the money. Frustrated and unable to get in touch with the officer, the woman reached out to advocacy groups for help in retrieving her money. On October 6, Kittirat addressed the issue at the Royal Thai Police headquarters. He has tasked Police Major General Wichit Boonchinwutikul, commander of Samut Prakan Provincial Police, with conducting an in-depth investigation into the matter. The officer could face strict disciplinary measures, criminal charges, and even jail time if the allegations prove to be true. Kittirat stressed the need to uphold public confidence in the police force, using this incident as an example. This issue has spotlighted the crucial role advocacy groups play in highlighting corruption issues and helping victims get justice. They are instrumental in ensuring corrupt officials are held to account and that citizens' concerns are acknowledged. File photo for reference only -- 2024-10-07 -

METV or Visa Exemption for multiple short-stay entries? (+ internal flights).
From thread regarding this .. @BritTim posted. "A re-entry permit can be used to protect any permission to stay. While uncommon, this includes a visa exempt entry and, on rare occasions, may make sense." -

How to deal with a conflict with monkeys?
You are born with the power to run, give it a try !!!... ok, serious... The monkey probably recognised the monk and its quickly likely the monk has used a stick a or a slingshot etc, thrown stones at the monkey etc enough times, the the monkey knows whats coming. Some may argue this would be 'un-buddhist' of a monk to act in this fashion - but they are still just humans and can respond to a problem anyway they want. You want to know how 'you' should respond - if the issue becomes significant enough - carry some sort of 'stun baton'... https://www.lazada.co.th/products/led-i5183607010-s22003191204.html? -

METV or Visa Exemption for multiple short-stay entries? (+ internal flights).
Thanks for the further info. As just mentioned, trips are short due to working commitments in the UK currently. There is future sight for re-location out to Thailand after marriage, but for now this is the system that I have to work to. I can apply for METV in UK as I am here now, I just don't know if anyone had any history with this Visa and if it is a difficult application to do or be successful in? I've never been asked for this by an airline as of yet (EVA AIR every time from UK), but I am always in possession of a round trip ticket to return to the UK paid in advance, with a hard copy on me that I can present at any time. -

Then METV is definitely your best option.
