Khon Kaen, Opportunities And Possibilities!

I am from UK and have a degree and 10 years teaching experience in higher education, I also have a PGCE post 16 qualification and a basic TEFL qualification. I would like to work part time only, perhaps in a University or with older students, can anyone tell me what possibilities I may find in Khon Kaen area of Thailand? I don't know much about this area but I do have friends there who I can stay with initially. I would love to have contact with expats who are in this area and hear your opinion.
