Just my luck, as the cold season kicks in, the hot water heater in the bathroom decides it doesnt work anymore. Ice cold morning showers are not funny right now, so if anyone can tell me the number of a repairman that will come out and fix it, I will be very grateful.

I live off sukhumvit road so any guy that operates in the area from Asoke up to Onnut will be fine.

As no-one else has answered you...

If it's one in the shower cubicle it could be the pressure switch. If it's one for the sink and bath taps it could be the flow switch..or for either it could be that the heater has gone open circuit (just failed). Quite often there is a little reset button. Just isolate the supply, pull the front off and look. It it has tripped once odds are that it will trip again soon. But I have known them not work just due to a loose supply terminal wire.

Best is BIN IT and get another...the shop will fit it for free. They are not built to last. Modern, quality ones, usually have a two or five year warranty on the heater, the rest of the parts one year. Definitely not built to last.

But you are right, this time of the year the water is 'kin cold'...it just needs the edge taking off if.

Thanks for the reply. It's the type that sits on the wall of the shower. It is quite a modern one as its only about 2 years old. I don't mind buying a new one, but I'd just prefer if someone could have a quick look at it first.

You contact the manufacturer for service of such units. They will come to home and do in my experience.

Also such units always have an ELCB built in that should be checked every few weeks. There will be a push button to check and a reset lever to restore. If that is tripped and not reset there will be no heating. Often this hangs next to shower hose and has to be pushed up to reset.
