BANGKOK, Thailand -- Siemens unveiled its new line of cellphones in Thailand this week, one that focuses on fashion, not features.

The five Xelibri models shown Thursday in Bangkok look more like large powder compacts, with the screen in the lid and the buttons circling a central speaker, said the Bangkok Post.

"The Xelibri is likely to set the stage for a price war among luxury rivals in Thailand," said Suwannee Singhrudej, vice-president of Siemens Mobile. "Also, it will add a fashion-concept mobile phone to our traditional Siemens line of advanced function handsets in a drive to extend the brand into a new segment and boost sales."
