Can anyone recommend a tailor whom does good work for suits, shirts and sports jackets?

Any idea on price range I can expect for a suit? Sports Jacket?

How long does it generally take from fist measurements to finished product?

Are there any taylors in Jomtien area? :o

Jomtien there is one taylor by the food mart, between view Talay one and Teppasit road.

Also Soi White house. With out looking I can tell you there are more located around Jomtien

All the Tailors send the work out to be done in a sweat shop. A lot of the cloths end up getting made at the area back left of Tuk Com (not part of the tuk com building) on south Pattaya road, here there are many Thai dress and suite makers really making the cloths, where as the Indian shops are just show rooms. In theory this means that the quality will be no better no matter which Tailors you use. This may explain the reason why what ever you ask for you never seem to get it, Chinese whispers

Many of the Indian tailors come from the same family. They have multiple shops all over Pattaya.

There isn't much difference in their pricing structure. I wouldn't be surprised if they all get their heads together and set price minimums, so shopping around for a better price is usually a waste of time.

The best way to know whether you are being offered a good deal is to compare prices in your home country with what they are offering.

My suggestion is that you take your time to choose good quality material and give the tailor plenty of time to make the suit. He will need about 4 - 5 days for a suit. This includes at least one fitting.

Be very careful at the final fitting. Check the strength and accuracy of each join in material.

Make sure that the seat of the trousers are double stitched.

As for bartering a good price, a lot depends on the time of year. In the high tourist season don't expect them to discount their clothing by too much.

Get them down to as much as you possibly can and then insist that they throw in a silk tie as well.

I was walking along beach road between soi 13-1 and soi 13-4 the tailors there were offering suits at 2000bht.

This is what I would take into account.

The Tailors on walking Street and places like Royal Garden have to pay big rent, much bigger than that of smaller shops out the way, like the ones from the small market type stalls between the areas said above. These shops can charge less as a result of lower over heads.

I have never purchased direct from the area at the back of Tuk Com, I only found it after I had no more requirements. But I am sure they will sell to you, I am sure you have a better chance of getting what you wont as you are talking directly to the maker.

When ever you go to a Tailor, only get one outfit made at a time, do not get many suits, this is when you will have the biggest misunderstandings. More product more problems, one at a time.
