I currently have an Altis that I have used with LPG for a couple of years. I have experienced few problems with this set up. Now that the government is about to float LPG I am thinking of changing to CNG.

To do so I figure I need a larger vehicle. My budget allows for a Camry 2003. However, some mechanics tell me that the engine on the Camry doesn't do well with CNG due to its higher burning point.

Is this so? To make the switch to CNG I need a larger vehicle so I have been looking at the Fortuner and the Camry. I would greatly appreciate any advice.

The Fortuner 2,7 seems to survive 150-200k km in vans on CNG

2003 Camry, is it a 2,2 4valve? the 3,0 V6 seems to do ok on CNG

In general CNG harms engine more than LPG as it has higher combustion temp and lubricates less.

On the other hand, how much does it cost to replace head and valves every 100k km?

and any solution, let you engine run petrol until it reaches 65C on every start up

sorry, no experience on this one on CNG

Toyotas only factory fitted CNG in LOS, Altis 1,6 CNG, engine is modified compared to petrol 1,6 to be able to survive CNG for 3years/100k km. Head, valves and probably pistons
