200' Of Cat 5 Cable - Cheapest Place?

Featured Replies

MBK or Pantip? Anyone know about how much this will cost per foot or per meter?

I got a 30m cable from Fortune IT Mall which is right next to Phra Ram 9 MRT station, it cost only a couple of hundred Baht.

I've never come across a ready made cable longer than about 100 feet / 30 meters but I.m sure you can have one made up.

I can not say where is the best to buy but I had a 100m cable made and purchased for 8baht a meter or 800 baht total. Cat5 specs 100m is length limit. Experiments show that a full 305 metre drum of cable is well above the practical limit, but that reliable transmission with 200 m is often possible.

Try the Network Supply shop on 3rd (or 4th?) floor of Pantip - directly above S&P restaurant that is on the ground floor. They will make up a cable of any size.

Thanks everyone.....I bought two little gizmos that will let me convert a USB to CAT 5 so I'm going to string CAT 5 to a webcam in my sons rooms and use the gizmo to plug in the webcam.

Now when I yell "Are you jumping on the bed?" I'll know when he's lying! :)

I've got about that much sitting in my storage room. Send me a PM with your address and I'll mail it to you for the cost of the mailing.

Cheers
