Scanning/Word Processing In Cm

Featured Replies

Folks,

The are some fine writers and savvy IT members on TV, and I need your help.

I am editing hundreds of pages of typewritten material produced before I started using a computer, probably before 1990. I need to scan this material (Poetry and Prose), and have files when finished usable by my MacBook Pro using Pages '09. I can import formats .pages, .rtf, .doc, .txt, .cwk

I have found doing it myself (scanning to pdf and converting using OCR software one page at a time) pretty slow going. So I would appreciate any suggestions you might have concerning professional Copy, Scanning, Word processing shops or services in Chiang Mai that could help me out and speed up the process.

Any recommendations or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance for your help.

With a all in one printer scanner that has a document feeder you could scan the documents in as a TIF file (graphic image). Then either leave in that format until you want to edit it and then OCR the file or scan everything in and run the OCR as a batch file. Also there are many places now with digital photocopiers that could scan everything to TIF for you if they know how to use there equipment.
