Best Way To Get From Pattaya To Phiphi?

I've been to Phuket and Pattaya, and now want to do some snorkeling, and am told PhiPhi is the best place to go for that and the best beaches? If that's correct, what's the best way to get there from Pattaya? Someone suggested flying to Krabi, and then boat to PhiPhi?

Bangkok Air 1 PM flight from Pattaya U Tapau airport, to Phuket, arrival 2 : 30 .

Too late an arrival in Phuket ( I think ) to catch the ferry ( located at south end of island ) to Phi Phi.

Go to Krabi and then taxi Ao Nang well worth checking out. the ferri is about four hours to phi phi from Ao Nang.

I agree. I just went to Ao Nang last weekend for the 3 day weekend. It was phenomenal. Definitely recommend it.
