Jamie Carragher was refused entry to the Manchester United dressing-room on Sunday after attempting to apologise for the challenge which left Nani with a gash so deep that the winger’s shin bone was visible through the open wound.

Nani was assessed by medical staff at United on Tuesday, but the severity of the wound to his leg, combined with the bruising around the affected area, has forced the club to reassess the injury once swelling has subsided on Tuesday.

But with Nani suffering what has been described by United sources as a "very deep gash", there are concerns within Old Trafford that the 24 year-old could be out of action until after the international break at the end of this month.

The depth of the cut is the prime concern, with the healing process dependent on the success of stitching, which could be put under pressure of bursting should Nani return to action too quickly.

i'm glad it hurts him m, he's spent his whole career in england so far trying to get opponents booked with his diving and feigning injury. he's a scumbag. so now the poor little innocent lamb is all shocked when a proper foul actually hurts his little leggy-weggy? my heart bleeds. not as much as his shin, obviously

Good, keep it up for six months and he can then save the dramatics for Panto season.

are you seriously telling me a football fan as seasoned as yourself doesn't enjoy a good straightener? from a fan of the club where julian dicks did his finest work? you've honestly never cheered when one of your own put an opposing teams cheat / diver / fanny merchant in his richly deserved place?

not aware of carragher doing anything of the sort about the neill challenge by the way. in fact if memory serves he actually tried to play on on a broken leg and then limped off on it.

nope. 'nani'. prancing little injury-feigning <deleted>. plays for man united. the one whose own team-mates are even embarrassed by his antics.

torres? totally indifferent really james.

don't think he's ever been much of a diver though and has certainly never feigned injury to get another player booked / sent off.

It was your use of the word scumbag that confused me.

When I looked it up in the dictionary there is a picture of Gerrard and 2 of his mates beating up a disc jockey in a pub.

He'll be able to give Drogba tips.

Noticed how Kuyt has become vertically challenged since Torrers left?

he's just a top, top man.

reckon there's a chance he might be the new atletico madrid manager next season as it goes.

Have to agree with you there. Whilst not being a big fan of him as a manager he is a stand out as a truely decent bloke, a real gentleman too.

Now that was nasty !

It would be wouldn't it, cos it wasn't made by a Liverpool Player..

It was not a patch on the Coward Carragher's

Oh I see Singh - It wasn't a Liverpool player so lets not jump up and down! rolleyes.gif

I stated on this thread the Carragher one was a bad tackle and I said I have also seen worst in many other games by other players.

It was a nasty challenge was it not???? and a typical Scholes challenge - late and reckless!
