Cable Internet?

Featured Replies

I am in a somewhat remote area of Buri Ram and see that a new cable tv wire has been run between the villages.

Does anybody know what is available from cable as far as internet is concerned? It's not as if the local folk here even know what internet is unless from their children going to univ. and they still don't

Any ideas for this farang would be very helpful

Thanks

Are you SURE its a cable TV wire, as, although I do not live in Buriram, I have heard nothing about it on the local forum.

I live 8k out of Surin and have adsl 6meg but thats very rare in most places outside of town.

I'm not sure of anything anymore!

It appears to be round coax cable. While they were installing the line it barely cleared my drive and car as I passed under it so I could see close up what it appeared to be.

It is definitely a utility (not power) line. I am not familiar what tele wires are in thai... but in the states I have experience in that sort of thing ... well, enough to know that they are flat.

Can a person get internet from cable here or any other reasonable means.

Sound like you are pretty lucky with your service.

You better ask the internetprovider 3BB what they can do in your village. They have lately installed new cables all over Buriram and many other places in Isaan. It might be those cables you have seen.

They have their office in Buriram next to TT&T on InJantraNarong Road (off Thani Road) and they also have a selling point in BigC.

Thanks for that. It's a great start. I will go into Big C first and try my luck then I will post here what I find out.
