Does anyone know of anyone in the Rawai area who can explain to me

how to operate the filtering and salt water chlorination on a pool.

The setup on my house has a lot more switches and controls than the system i am used to.

A business is fine i am quite happy to pay

Thanks in advance for any replies

Try sending a PM to Valentine; he's in the pool business.

I have already asked Valentine and he told me he does not install this type of system

Tell us what brand names, and we may be able to help

There are 2 electrical control boxes brand name MOS

The first one has switch on the outside for pool lights which is on as there is another switch at the house

This one is making a vibrating noise and if i turn the switch of it stops the noise

The second box has 2 switches

The first one is in the off position this is the filter switch and can be set at Auto/off/manual

I think this should be on Auto

The second switch is on the manual position as there is a second, switch at the house to turn it on

This is for the Jacuzzi.

The system comes on twice a day and the water flows over the water fall.

It has a Superchlor 4000 pool management system

There are 2 pumps and i think one runs the jacuzzi and waterfall, although the water may be going through the filter to the water fall

Not correct. I told you my guys are just not familiar with the old style electrical boxes that some companies use on their pools. All our pools have saltwater chlorinators. MOS is just a brand name for the box only. Auto & manual are pretty self explanatory. Look inside the box & you will see one or more timers depending if they have them for the lights or not. Turn the timer(s) clockwise only & you will see what comes on at what time after which you can reset them to the correct time. It also could be that the Superchlor has its own timer which will start & stop itself & the pump.

yepp, MOS is the name of the housing only (plastic boxes). Chlorinator name Superchlor should not be at its own timer, cause if pump or chlorinator timer deafault chlorinator runs without circulation. If its too much hazzle, rewire it all, takes a few hours

by checking chlor level at output and at waterfall, higher chlor level at output indicates chlorinator actually is working

All the saltwater chlorinators I use that have their own timer also have a plug for the pump, therefore they both start & stop at the same time. I have not seen a Surechlor for several years but I thought the pump could also be connected into it. Judging from Peter's description the boxes having an auto/manual switch usually have a timer inside to which both the pump & saltwater chlorinator should be connected to.

You can tell if a saltwater chlorinator is producing chlorine gas by looking in the cell housing & observing a stream of very fine bubbles. If still unsure place the cell in a bucket of salty water from the pool & turn it on. If working efficiently you should see a large influx of white looking gas, if only a little bit then the cell could need replacing,

The house is 5 years old so the boxes are not old style, there are no timers in the boxes only one on the Superchlor which it seems the filter pump runs from even when it is in the

switched of position (tit) , I thanked you for your offer to take a look but you would not fit through the opening to get to the rear of the pump house, i think i have it worked out now and

wont be paying a pool company 2000 baht a month plus supplying the chemicals when its a simple job to do myself :)

I'm curious as to why the landlord didn't show you, or if you bought a house, the previous owner didn't show you.

The previous owner employed a pool service firm to do everything, he doesn't know how it works

I will be seeing him today and ask the name of the firm, i do not think it is working properly,

When the pump is of the water drains back to the pool which should not happen

The so called pool expert has been to the house, The water has been draining back from

the filter pump for at least 12 months, sounds like it needs a new non return valve and the

chlorinator needs checking to make sure it is operating properly, i think it is as the water

is clear.

Currently the pump runs for about 5 minutes before it starts pumping water, and there is a

timer its hidden on the back of the control box

I sent a PM to Valentine but i have not heard back, can anyone recommend somebody

to do the work.

I was out all day yesterday. You sent me a PM at midday & 2 hours later you post I have not called you. Some of us have to work.

Try cleaning the non return valve. It only takes a little bit of debris & it will not close properly. I have already stated in a previous post how to check the chlorinator.

I want a professional to check the system out for me and make sure everything is working properly

Why should i do it when i am quite happy to pay someone else and normally you are home a lot of the day

Since you have so much work on i will find someone else who needs the work

You did say I would not be able to access the pump room which is why I have been offering advice through this thread. I hope others can also learn from this. Many times I go to solve a problem that I will not charge for even though it takes up my time. Please do not assume anything about my business. Being busy one day does not necessarily equate to having so much work on I have no time for others.

We have cleared around the pump house so even you should be able to get in

Recently you replaced the patio roof on the house i was renting, its still leaking along the edge when it rains,

All it takes is some silicon sealant to fix it, not my house, not my problem

You were also doing other jobs which were nothing to do with swimming pools,

If you are not interested in giving me a quote on the maintenance work on my pool i am sure someone else is ;)

Jeez.........a guy offers to help you for free and all you can do is find fault and malign his business.

Anyone previously thinking of helping you will have second thoughts now.

I reckon you owe Valantine an apology.
