Looked at one today and seriously thinking of getting one but is the fuel economy really what they say, whats the power like with battery and are long journeys efficient?.......any owners views much appreciated

My sister has one in the US and the gas savings are very good if you drive moderately without gunning it. The car runs on gasoline and battery power, its a hybrid as you know so its more a of a circular effect, as you drive the battery charges etc. She hasn't had any issues with her battery since she got it.

Hers is a few years old now and is driven constantly and daily and she is very happy with it. Its very efficient on level ground, not so good if you are going up hills or mountains as then the gas kicks in and your fuel savings drop. Its zippy enough and she regularly surprises people by speeding past them on the highway, there being an assumption they have no power.

And a bonus, she got speeding tickets all the time in her previous vehicle (a pick up truck) but rarely gets them in the Prius even tho she still speeds, police just don't look at it, I guess.
