Imac Security

Featured Replies

My iMac is set for a password required when the screen saver comes on. For some reason when I shut down the computer and restart it no password is required. Why, I want the password used all the time, what can be the problem. The only place I see for the password is in the preferences under securityand I have that set for one minute

why can I shut down the computer completely and then start it up and no password is required?

You have probably auro logon enabled,

Quick fix is to change the password or dissable this features in user preferencies

Yep, select Disable automatic logon for all users in the Security preferences. Like this:

correct, but dont copy the settings from the screenshoot !

well like anywhere in OSX .. statements and settings are quite exact as they are labeled .. so there should be no confusion at all

nickster's Screen also point out a very handy OSX Feature .. you can search not only for documents and whatever .. also search for settings and features are possible ..

simply write what you wanna do . and OSX will guide you there

correct, but dont copy the settings from the screenshoot !

Huh? What's wrong with my settings?
