Back From Penang W A Non Imm B And O

Featured Replies

I just did the visa run to Penang in order to get my first Non Imm B and was able to get a single entry with no problems. I submitted all my paperwork minus the WP3 and the guy behind the counter told me that I was "usually supposed to" have a receipt from the labor dept. and that my visa was subject to approval.

I then asked about getting a dependent visa for my husband, who had come along with me with the plans of getting at least a 60 day tourist visa.

The official said to just submit a copy of our marriage certificate and a copy of my passport photo page along with 2 photos and a copy of my husbands photo page, and that he could start processing it right then. We had the first 2 things, but had to make a quick stop to a Kodak place to get his photos. And since he had taken my husband's passport with the paperwork and was holding them, I asked the guy how we were supposed to get him a photocopy of the first page, to which he said "Don't worry about it", and just took what we had.

Came back the next day and I was handed my single entry B visa and my husband his O. Pretty painless.

But maybe I just got lucky because there were a couple other people there that were very irate because their applications were denied.

Must have been my charming smile. :o
