Nintendo Wii Internet Conection

Featured Replies

Hi all i have a problem connecting my young fellows Nintendo Wii to the internet.

My laptop is connected wirelessly no problem but when I try and connect the Wii it finds the router ok I key in the password but the connection fails.

i am using a speed surf 804 router and i am not sure if it is compatible with the Wii

any ideas any body

I had a similar problem back in the states. Had to do with the wireless security protocol used. At that time I just changed the protocol to WPA or WEP, can't remember exactly. Many new routers will allow you to set up two or more AP's from the same router. Then you can set one for your computer(more secure) and another for the WII (not so secure)

I had the same problem back in the states as well, and I had to input the MAC address for the Wii into the router and give it permission to access the network. Once that was done, it was smooth sailing, and fully protected.
