Mail Problem

Featured Replies

I have gmail and hotmail set up in my mail account. When I send from mail it says that it was sent from gmail but when I go online and check it shows in the hotmail sent box. I use gmail as my primary account as i've had problems with hotmail in the past. Why is this happening? Thanks.

It's most likely because you are using Gmail's SMTP-server to send your Hotmail. Something similar happens to my email.

Most likely as fredlk states,

Just reselect the hotmail smtp and check "use this server only"

Also you may check the reply options set to "same account"

^^ great, thanks guys

I have a problem with my iMac. I have my gmail account set up and it works like a charm. I never set up the apple mail as I dont want them controlling my mail. My problem is when I want to send an email from a website it doesn't go to my gmail but the the apple mail and tell me to set it up. I cant find a option to make it go to my gmail as my only account

anyone know how?

thanks

just install the Google Mail Notifier ...

and set the use "Gmail" in preferencies .. this will change the global setting as action for "mailto" links

alternatively you can doe this in Mail.app preferencies under general tab

gmail notify: http://toolbar.google.com/gmail-helper/notifier_mac.html
