electrozebra
Saw these two little beauties on the roof below my upper floor a hour or so ago. Looked like they were caged birds that had escaped Love Birds. They are busy flying around near the Shagwell Hotel. edit... remember now they are Love Birds. FarangBuddha
Yep...a couple of buggies (parakeets) that got loose...put some seeds out for them. The owner of Ticino lost his African Grey a couple months ago so you might spot that bird around town as well
WyattEarp
I think some parrot species live wild here, remember we're in the tropics.

Not sure Love Birds live in the wild in Thailand as a rule though which is why I thought someone might have lost a pair. They do seem healthy enough so maybe not a problem for food for them. Dirk_brijs
if you could catch them? I would love to have them. I have a massive bird cage with 20+ birds inside will take good care of them.
anothertorres
looks like the same variety that was hanging around my house last year:

I would be careful about placing wild birds with your caged birds because of disease. Edited May 27, 2011 by gguy
gguy
They are very handsome birds. Probably can be hand trained with time and love. Neighbor has same type of bird that rides on his shoulder. Edited May 27, 2011 by gguy

I've never seen them in the wild ... and from a bit of research I see they are native to Africa and Madgascar. Sounds like someone's pets escaped and are enjoying their freedom. They must have escaped or what is more likely in this case is that someone let them go as they didnt like them anymore as they stayed together so they must have been caged together for a while. If they stay in the wild though their chances of survival are very slim. If anyone ever finds one please catch itb and let me know again I will take good care of them. Briggsy
These are 100% definitely non-native escaped birds. They are not wild and there is no known feral breeding population. Budgerigars are native to Australia.
WyattEarp
Seems everybody fell over my mentioning parrots. I didn't mean the love birds in particular, just that I sometimes see parrot-type birds flying around.
