Citibank Credit Card Fast Track Immigration At Bangkok Airport

Featured Replies

Has anyone tried the "Citibank Instant Rewards" for fast-track immigration leaving Thailand? and if so, can you pls describe your experience?

I heard that if you have a Citibank credit card issued in Thailand, you can go the Citibank counter ("near row M") in the departures hall at Suvarnabhum airport and redeem 1,000 points in exchange for a fast track coupon? Is that correct? Is there more to it than that? Is the Citibank counter open 24/7? Thanks!

Can this be true? Sounds slightly far fetched even for Thailand.

I agree!... Sounds rather Taskinesk B)

First time I tried it worked well, although it takes about a minute for paperwork.

Second time my departure was quite early, so the booth was not set up yet.

Next time I'll try if I can get multiple vouchers so I don't have to rely on their opening times.

By the way, it costs 1000 reward points, but there isn't much you can do with these points anyway, is it?

Have a UOB card as well, they also supply Fasttrack vouchers but you have to order them and they cost 1500 points.

Cheers

Christian

I tried this fast track service (departure hall) this past weekend...it works like a charm...

but they moved the Citibank booth from Row M (near Immigration entrance) to a spot near Row J just when you walk into the departure hall....

I have tried.. and failed.

Because my Citibank Platinum card was co-marketed with Thai Airways ROP so it was not possible.

Looks like I have to continue to use K-Bank Wisdom card instead.

T's and C's (linked in this thread) say, "Not applicable for supplementary card, Citibank Royal Orchid Plus, and Citibank Cash Back. This Citi Rewards program is applicable for Citibank credit card issued in Thailand only."

I didnt realize they made a distinction between Citibank cards in Thailand...I have a Citibank "Platinum Select" visa card (co-branded with Paragon, Emporium and the Mall)...worked like a charm....counter lady asked how may fast track passes I wanted....(next time I'll get 10 and use them as stocking stuffer gifts)

That's why. I didn't carefully read the terms and conditions. Not to mention that my card is just a supplementary card.

"Sounds rather Taskinesk"

I'm drawing a blank. Did you intend to make a reference to former PM Thaksin Shinawatra?

Hope you did not go for the 10; I havea couple of them in stock and was rejected recently as they changed the design...

Thank you AOT, nice gesture to change the conditions after you sold your vouchers...

if so, can you pls describe your experience?

===================

I notice nobody did.

So can somebody please explain what the advantages of a "fast track card" would be to an old retiree living on a government pension (U.S.) who is traveling to Singapore on a budget airline (say Air Asia, just for kicks) and couldn't afford "business class" anyhow....if there was such a thing.

Not many I presume?

It's been two days and your lack of responses to my question, speaks volumes.

Which is precisely the answer to my sarcastic question I expect.

That;s shows what your "fast track card" and "citibank Platinum card" are really worth, doesn't it?

the fast track cards for outbound issued by Citibank are discontinued.....

but if you have any unused cards (I had 5 unused cards), Citibank will accept them back and re-credit your points..call 1588 for details (or follow the instructions from the SMS message from Citibank)

the advantage of the fast track (when traveling in economy class) is that you will by-pass the sometime gigantic departing lines (for security check and immigration check) with the premium fast-track zone lines (which are always always virtually non-existent in my experience)...

in any event, if you are traveling first or biz class on many airlines you will get a fast track card for outward departure (as well as for inward immigration).. for example, over the holidays I traveled on Cathay Pacific biz class and they gave me an outward fast track card on check-in (plus an inward fast track card when the plane was descending for landing back to Bangkok--although I didnt use it)....the outward fast track card is always useful in my experience...the inward one is less useful (because I can use Thai or foreign lines with my Permanent Residence booklet)

For 12k Baht/year, you can always become a "silver" member of ThaiLongStay and either use your ID or be escorted thru fast track immigration arriving and departing ... and even picked-up/delivered to your gate on one of those airport golfcarts. But it's only worth the price if you travel frequently thru Swampy.

citibank bank , Huh, they are all over the capital pushing their products. I remember a year or so ago I asked one of their promotion counter staff in a shopping mall about opening a current account , needed work permit passport etc Ok ..., Oh and minimum 100,000 Bht deposited to open an account , I laughed so much I had to have a drink of water at the food park nearby ,
